A blooming great success at Tatton show
Lancaster City Council has dug up yet another medal at the RHS Tatton Flower Show this week.
This year's entry – Bring Me Football – picked up a bronze medal in the National Flowerbed Competition.
Although the award does not quite reach last year's dizzying heights of gold, it is still a major achievement.
The theme of this year's entry celebrates Morecambe FC's achievement in gaining promotion to the Football League.
It features a colourful display of flowers laid out in the shape
of Morecambe FC's Christie Park.
In the centre of the pitch, a replica of the famous sculpture of Eric Morecambe which adorns the seafront, looks out over the stands.
Beetham Nurseries are also celebrating after one of the
gardens for which they supplied planting won an RHS gold
medal at the show which runs at Tatton Park in Cheshire until Sunday.
