CALLOUS thieves stole a disabled man's briefcase as they pretended to help him with his wheelchair.
The Lancaster City Council officer was in Marlborough Road, Heysham, on Thursday morning when two youths offered to help him as he attended to his wheelchair.

They then made off with his black briefcase which contained a £60 Nokia phone.

One of the youths was described as being male, white, slightly built, 17 to 20 years old, with a tanned complexion and wearing a dark hooded top, trainers and trousers.

The second was also a white male, slightly built, 16-19, wearing a dark hooded top with a hole in the left arm,. dark jeans and a Leeds United scarf.

THIEVES stole waterproofs, CDs, a pair of sunglasses and some jump leads from the boot of a Saab car parked in Kingsway, Heysham, overnight on Thursday. The haul is valued at £281.

A PETROL Stihl saw worth £800 was taken from a Ford transit pick-up truck parked in Greensett Close, Lancaster, on Thursday morning.

AN adult's silver and black mountain bike worth £350 was stolen from the garage of a house in South Road, Morecambe, between 11am and 3pm on Thursday.
