POLICE in Morecambe are appealing for information after an air pistol was possibly used to cause damage to the new café close to the West End Gardens on Morecambe promenade.
The new café, that is currently under construction next to the Battery pub, had a glass door damaged at some time between June 6 and June 9.

The damage is estimated to cost £500.

A police spokesman said: "The door that has been damaged is facing properties that are situated on Marine Road West and opposite the Bold Street junction so it is possible that the offender could have fired the weapon from that direction.''

It is the latest incident of damage involving a reported air gun being used on the promenade and police are asking anyone who sees people acting suspiciously in the area to get in touch.

If you have any information please contact police on 01524 63333 quoting log number LC-20080612-0380 or alternatively ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
