IT was more misery for Lancaster's cricketers as they crumbled at St. Annes.

Having won the toss, Lancaster set about posting a challenging score, on an indifferent pitch.

Ryan Nelson was back into the side, opening with Jamie Heywood.
And the two made a great start, the team score reaching 30-0 after eight overs.

But from that moment Lancaster never really competed, losing the next 10 wickets for only 45 runs. Stephen Twist (6-10) was the pick of St. Annes bowlers, tearing through Lancaster's top six.

Firstly, Nelson (13) caught at backward-point and then Tim Barry edging a juggled catch behind.

Michael Walling padded up to a ball which nipped back and Heywood (20) gloved a pull shot to Duncan Whalley behind.

With only David Heywood (20 not out) providing resistance, the rest collapsed around him, St. Annes professional Mansoor Ahmed and Greg Whitehead both picking up 2-11.

Lancaster's bowling display started sprightly enough, Danny Milligan (1-20) removing Atiq Uz-Zaman for one, caught at mid-wicket by Jamie Heywood.

Also opening was Lancaster professional, Wassem Khan (2-45) who beat the bat regularly and finally found the edge to dismiss John Musgrave (eight).

Adam Taylor (32 not out) batted well for St. Annes, steering his side home for a six- wicket win, leaving Lancaster struggling near the foot of the table.
