Train derailment chaos
An engineering train that derailed at Carnforth Railway Station on Sunday morning caused severe disruptions to services.
Twenty-three trains were cancelled and 89 suffered long delays after the front wheels fell off a piece of engineering equipment on the West Coast mainline at 8.20am.
Trains running between London Euston and Glasgow via Lancaster and Carnforth, and those running on the Barrow-in-Furness line, were on the move again at 5.50pm that evening. No-one was hurt in the incident.
