VANDALS DESECRATE CEMETERY

GRAVESTONES at Skerton Cemetery were desecrated in an overnight vandal attack.

Police, who are appealing for witnesses, say around ten memorial stones in the cemetery off Halton Road, Lancaster, were pushed over, causing hundreds of pounds of damage.

Three stone angel figurines were also smashed up during the incident which occurred some time on the night of Monday May 12 or in the early hours of Tuesday May 13.
