Music from the films concert at Morecambe’s Platform in November

Promenade Concert Orchestra move into their 17th season of concerts at The Platform in Morecambe, with a Music from the Films programme on November 26 at 3pm.

In with a bang from outer-space is a Star Wars medley and to remind people of the great James Bond Film Themes from 007 a medley of; Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, Live and Let Die and the James Bond Theme.

Walt Disney will be celebrated with melodies such as, Never Smile at a Crocodile, You can Fly! You can Fly!, The Second Star to the Right and the Pride and Prejudice theme by Carl Davis.

Brian Heaton will be the piano soloist and also in the film theme, The Mansell Concerto.

Musicals are represented with a medley of well-known wonderful songs from Fiddler on the Roof and Guys and Dolls and a selection of Gershwin Melodies taken from his shows and films.

The orchestra visit a silent movie with incidental music used for a love scene or a quiet interlude.
