The Hendry brothers, from Skerton Liberal, beat the Slyne pair 21-10 in the final to round off an excellent weekend of bowling. The Hendrys had been a late entry after a pair withdrew but they came through qualifying to triumph with some superb play. Their highlight was in the semi-final against Ken Parry and Bob Palmer. With the scores locked at 20-20, Parry and Palmer lied four and on the brink of victory only for Alan Hendry to sneak through and take the one he amd his brother needed to make the final. Wood and Padgett beat Ray Russell and Keith Lowther 21-7 in their semi-final. Thanks to Alan Swindlehurst for organising the event and to all at Slyne BC for their help with marking and providing refreshments over the weekend.
