Sammy McIlroy's side had debutant keeper Joe Lewis to thank for a superb save from Anthony Thomas six minutes from time after his curling effort looked set to give the Bees the points.
It was Morecambe who started the better with Michael Twiss missing a glorious chance on just three minutes when he fired straight at Lee Harrison when he really should have scored.
Barnet hit back with defender Sagi Burton heading over from a good opening and Adam Birchall forcing Lewis into a good save as the first half came to a close.
Morecambe came close in the second half when Garry Hunter's volley curled inches over the bar before Barnet enjoyed the better of the closing stages.
Michael Leary shot just wide and Birchall saw a shot deflected into the side netting before Lewis produced his stunning save to earn his side a share of the spoils.
